Dog park to nix fees. Owners bark
Dog owners will be able to visit Mecklenburg's dog parks next year without paying a fee or providing proof of vaccinations -- and some owners aren't happy about it. The "pooch pass" system, in place since 2002, lets owners register dogs with proof of vaccinations pay a $35 annual fee and use the county's four dog parks. Dogs must also be at least four months old. Electronic keycards then allow
